Welcome to the new home of Upland Nature Guides! We chose a rolling launch to minimize delay, so this site will continue to grow over time. More hikes will be added to the schedule in the coming days, including our first monthly low-barrier hike later in August.
Hosted on the region’s network of groomed rail trails, monthly low-barrier hikes offer new hikers and people with disabilities an authentic nature experience. We’ll help build up your skills and comfort, because the great outdoors belongs to everyone!
Upland also hosts twice-weekly outings across Ontario’s highlands region. Our hikes are easily paced and appropriate for a wide range of abilities, with a focus on wildlife observation instead of covering long distances. We take you to the places where nature really shines, right when it’s at its peak. See spring ephemeral wildflowers, migrating songbirds, rare native orchids, fall mushrooms and much more with Upland Nature Guides.
Whether you join us for a hike or not, I hope this site provides some inspiration for your outdoor adventures. Consult the resources and trip reports for ideas to plan your own outings.
Thanks so much for visiting and please don’t hesitate to reach out with questions, feedback on the launch, or thoughts on Upland in general.
Happy hiking,
Jeff Priest
